I take my hat off to anyone who actually gets their hands dirty and organises these meetings.

In respect of the Captain's point on emissions, for the taxi trade it wont matter as councils will be able to set their own criteria, as long as it's above the base level set by the SoS.

Clearly councils wont be able to do that for PH, but then again some of the doom-mongers are saying they will flood the taxi trade. If that was to happen then they also could have enhanced emissions limits.

I was speaking to an emissions person the other day, as they are also part of the licensing section, and he said the high emissions created in our city wasn't down to the taxi/PH trade but down to the trucks and the buses.

Sorry old chap but I have to disagree, the point mentioned was in regard to one area adversely affecting another.

If the nice taxi owners in London are warning about doom in a 10 year old age limit......with the money they make......what about bert in keswick, and remember the LC want cheap and cheerful too.

I can't decide if living in the fluffy world of Toots is better than living in the fluffy world of Sussex
