Constitution of the Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union
Constitution of
Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union
NAME
1. The name of the Organisation (referred to in these Rules) shall be
Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union (L-E-T-U)
OBJECTS
The objects of the Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union, which will be known
as L-E-T-U
2. Shall be to carry on the business as a trade organization supporting both
Taxi Drivers and Taxi Owners free of charge and to carry on any other
trade, business or service as principals or agents which may seem to LE-
T-U to be conducive to its interests generally.
POWERS
3. L-E-T-U shall have power to do all things necessary or expedient for the
fulfillment of its objects and in particular:
a) to represent the trade at all levels
b) To use members details to further the benefits of L-E-T-U and to
gain all information and details from appointed suppliers of goods
and services.
OFFICE
4. The Office of Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union shall be at:
l-e-t-u@hotmail.co.uk.
MEMBERSHIP
5. Membership is free of charge to Taxi Owners/Drivers
6. In addition the Committee may, at their discretion, allow other individuals
who have an interest in the Taxi Trade who do not meet the
requirements under rule 5 above, to use the services Liverpool
Electronic Taxi Union as full members.
7. Applications for membership shall be via e-mail.
8. Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union shall keep at its office a register of
members in which the following details will be kept:
a) the name e-mail address, badge number of drivers and the plate
number (s) of every owner that wish to join.
b) the date on which each member's name was entered in the
register as a member and the date on which any member ceased
to be a member;
c) the names and e-mail addresses of the Committee
d) the names and e-mail addresses of other individuals who have an
interest in the Taxi Trade who do not meet the requirements
under rule 5 above, to use the services of the Liverpool Electronic
Taxi Union as full members.
e) Person wishing to join who don’t have an e-mail address may use
the e-mail address of another
person as long as they have their permission and have informed
l-e-t-u in advance.
9. A copy of these Rules and any amendments made shall be given free of
charge to every member upon admission.
CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
10. A member shall cease to be a member if s/he or it:
a) Sends an e-mail canceling their membership
b) Is asked to leave for conduct not conducive to the well being of LE-
T-U
MEETINGS
11. An Annual General Meeting shall be held every twelve months which
shall comprise:
a) The receipt of the accounts and balance sheet if any monies have
been collected and of the reports of the Committee
b) The election of Committee members or the results of the election
if held previously by ballot;
c) The transaction of any other business included in the notice
convening the meeting.
d) All meetings will be held by e-mail
FUNDS
Any monies collected shall be used to better the Liverpool Taxi Trade if
the Liverpool Electronic Taxi Union is closed down any funds left will be
distributed equally between the two charities supported by the Liverpool
Cab Trade Kids in Care and the Blind School Outing

I heard a rumour today that the £2,000 has been repaid, it's amazing what a little bit of shouting will do....

I wonder if the NTTG will send a responsive in claiming that their a national Taxi Association... It would be a bit fraudulent seeing as they have lost contact with half the association's and the rest took a vote of no confidence in the committee.... so at best they could only claim to represent one retired very old man from Blackpool and half a dozen extremely frightened Liverpool hackney drivers..... :shock:
