Thing is he is telling the LC exactly what they want to hear, so they will be lapping it up.

When the report first came out I thought that some of the big issues could be changed, in my favour or not, but now I think only the side issues can/will be altered. The meat is staying.

I think what he states is revealing, I also think he may be regretting the revelation

I've decided not to move on, for what I'd get for it and the cost of the HGV licenses and the CGT it isn't worth it, I've decided instead to become a Baron eventually if I need to.

Taste of what is to come, the government have had a taste of Addison Lee already, if the LC do what is being proposed AL will be one of many bully firms breaking laws to suit.

During the interview with Frances Patterson QC [Law Commissioner] she said that when the Law Commission draft a new Bill and present it to Parliament, it usually becomes law.

Now that's no surprise.

But what was a surprise to me was when she went on to say that if the government does not adopt or pass into law any Bill that the Law Commission has drafted and proposes, then there is a new law now which compels the government to explain / give reasons why they have not proceeded to make the Bill and Act of Parliament.

And that's something I did not know.

Now that kind of makes any final Bill that the Law Commission drafts and proposes almost cast in stone.

Looking at the history of the LC they have been pretty successful in changing laws but there are some instances when the government have put changes on hold because it's not 'the right time' to change the law. I find this all rather strange cos the law either needs changing or it doesn't and there is always the point that the government can take on board part of the suggestions but not all of them. That aside I still think the brown envelopes are winning hands down, but, it's good to know that us taxi/ph drivers are not the only pawns in the game and the LC must constantly feel like pawns

I would suggest not enough MPs voting for it is quite a compelling reason.

I took it to mean that the Government (as requested by the Queen) have to make the time available in the Houses of Parliament, that is to say it needs to be in the Queens Speech.

The Houses of Parliament are not the Government.

Of course the MP's can then debate it, adjust or change it or bin it.

Peers then get the same chance.

We of course, get the chance to lobby MP's and Peers.
