By all accounts the LC are going out on the road next January to show certain people and groups what they are thinking and proposing?

Be nice if they could do a bit of testing on the good people of TDO, members and lurkers. 8-[

Probably not a bad idea, but do you not think they've been reading anyway, and I think a lot of the unpopular proposals were drawn up so they could get a true reaction from cab drivers, after all if you don't ask the question how do you find an answer.

They must either be very fast readers......or regardless of what people wrote, they were never going to change their minds?

I don't think we are tbh Charles, maybe 4 mths ago we were, but since Wayne took a demolition ball to their plans and now councils and the police are starting to chirp up with the obvious problems in our defence I think the plan just took a slip road somewhere better.

If that is true and I suspect it may well be as your sources are usually excellent, then it only shows how muddled they must be with the number of responses they have had and the complexity of our trades and the current legislations governing them.

They wanted the responses electronically so that they could dichotomize them and reorganise them into responses to question, provisional proposal and other individual topics, so that the responses to a particular topic were all in one document for ease of studying the answers to one topic at a time.

I would suspect that a team of people completed that task very soon after 10th September with the dregs of the final submissions being done daily as they came in.

Once done it's not that time consuming to tackle one topic at a time, because all the responses to that topic are together.

At least that was what I was told they would be doing.

I repeat what I said;

If they advise within 1 month that they intend to do roadshows.....considering everything that's been sent?

Hmmmm.....who said fait accompli?

Around 2,100 we were told today at the NTA Conference and Open Session.

And that's with the DfT response STILL to be received by the Law Commission.

We were also told that the previous record for the Law Commission team doing this consultation was 380, so they are well overwhelmed.
