What was the outcome of all that then? read through it but just ends abruptly and saying (been added to the bill) what bill? the one supposidly coming next month to discuss it again? or have they just made it law there and then confused slightly.

The last bit of the discussion on the private hire part shows that the committee voted in favour of the 3 clauses and they were all given their second reading and added to the Deregulation bill. Question put, That the clause be read a Second time. The Committee divided: Ayes 11, Noes 5. The bill has now passed to the reporting stage. |

It's kind of like attacking one perceived problem from 3 sides, they'll get what they want one way or the other |

I also note the Minister mentioning a number of times for the Labour spokesperson to offer alternatives. In short I believe these measures will come in, but there is a small chance they might be tinkered with. |
