The paper trail, or computer records for the job would still exist. The operator sub contracting the job would have to have a record of the booking and the operator who the job is sub contracted to would also have to have a record of the job, including which driver did the job. That is the law. Are you saying that private hire operators don't keep records now? Or are you saying that at the moment they keep records but as soon as the deregulation bill is passed, they won't keep records?
No, I'm saying that not all operators are wonderful. I've known staff in companies change things on computers and unless you know what you're looking at you wouldn't notice. In a perfect world full of nice people we wouldn't have to worry about protecting the public but it's not and they aren't so we do. Due to a minority of incidents and people the majority will suffer or perhaps they won't, perhaps it will just be the odd unfortunate female, male or pensioner etc but I don't want to be part of the group that say it's ok so I'll keep my stance that the deregulation bill is not a safe option.
