Scot Held After Holiday Punch-up With Cabbies

A Scottish tourist was arrested on holiday in Bulgaria after a punch-up with two cabbies.

The man, named as John Speedie of Glasgow, was said to have become involved in an argument outside the Alba hotel in the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach.

The 30-year-old told police the brawl started after he accused one of the drivers of overcharging him.

A witness said: "He was furious with a cab driver for trying to con him just because he's a tourist.

"The driver started shouting and pushing and he pushed him back. Then another driver got involved and there were arms and legs everywhere.

"One of the taxi drivers ended on the ground and the hotel called the police."

Police said Speedie was released after spending 24 hours in custody earlier this week.

But they warned him he could face compensation claims from the drivers for injuries and loss of earnings.

History lesson number 1,
Long ago this would be king of England decided he did not like us, so we took umbrage to that by going over the borders to kick some royal butt
then he decided to murder the instigators, and ever since then it has been passed down through the generations that if ever someone ( not only English) tries to get money out of your sporran by false pretence stick a Glasgow kiss on them

I noticed.

You lot could do with some therapy, can you not get that up there on the NHS the English pay for?

If you have never drank the stuff, how would you know.

And much stronger than the Bulgarian stuff is Polish Spirytus Rektyfikowany; 96.5% (192 proof) alcohol when produced, but can only remain at 95% alcohol when the bottle is opened, because it is diluted by moisture from the atmosphere being absorbed by the alcohol!!

And that's no bull!!

Sold in a maximum size 35cl half bottles, it is extremely dangerous stuff, usually used as a base for much weaker dilutions, but also known to be drunk by Polish alcoholics in the final stages of there lives.
