is there any fundamental reason why a limo (and i refer to, say, a stretch yank, LHD,etc) shouldnt be a PH vehicle?

Three reasons, iffy drivers, iffy vehicles and iffy operators.

Thats not right...........
If a council DO license them , then there cant be any iffy drivers, iffy vehicles and iffy operators. as they would not grant any of the above a license.

Like I said, they are iffy because Sussex doesn't like them.

Not all limousine activities require a license nor do they require a licensed driver so no not all unlicensed limos/drivers/ops are iffy.

So what have they got to lose by getting licensed? What are the hiding from?

so then...

the VEHICLES (if roadworthy, etc) dont seem to be a problem

(as for bursting into flames, dont black cabs do that?)

but some (<9 passengers) are LA/PH/speciality plated or 9-16 then PCV/COIF o-licence/vosa plated then?

i quite fancy a V8....

see here....he say 9 passengers and upwards needs a VOSA/PCV licence, etc, he DOESNT add that below that it STILL needs a plate - PH

if the guys in charge dont pass on the knowledge, what chance have we or the public got?

Quote:
He added: “The evidence presented to me shows evasion, denial and delay when dealing with the regulatory authorities.”

In his report he stressed it is not illegal to use a stretch limousine for personal use, but using a vehicle for hire and reward invokes the need for a licence.

Limousines with nine or more passenger seats must have a PSV Licence, granted by a traffic commissioner.
