Am I to understand that the reference to the turning circle is about turning a taxi in the road without reversing like most people do and if that is so the point is.......... :?

AS I PREDICTED MANY MOONS AGO PRIVATE HIRE CAN NOW OPERATE A LOCAL BUS SERVICE UNDER THIS ACT.

So go out and buy an 8 seater that the council will license and work the most lucrative routes in your area. Don't forget to pack the bus stops like big buses do. Don't forget you can also apply for a bus route starting from outside a night club if the location is appropriate.

Regards

JD

Does that mean A minimum of 8 seats require? and Does the PH Owner of such a Vehicle apply for any route he sees fit to start up?

Also Does the PH Operator need a Ticketing Machine that can Issue Tickets with all the relevant Information printed on them..time, date, Journey, Cost etc?

Does the Operator have to adhere rigidly to supply a working service on every Day he applys for, and rigidly adhere to timetables for certain bus stops once he commits himself, even though he might have a big fat juicey run for that vehicle he cannot take it off the route he applied to operate?

Does the PH operators vehicle also need Illuminated signs on the Vehicle that are the Legal size etc?

I was once offered a Rural bus route by the council for a vehicle with a Minimum requirement of just four seats ( a car)..but it had to be booked a day in advance and it needed such signage as Destination, Route Number and also a Ticketing machine....in the end I realised it was going to cost a fortune with no guarantee that any work would manifest itself from it....

A max of 8 passenger seats.

Any route he pleases, but not sure if he is restricted to his own manor. :?

Don't think so.

If a PH op puts down a route and time-table, then he had best keep to it within national guidelines. Which guessing form memory is 1 minute early or 4 minutes late.

I think.

I would assume any signage would still have to be passed by the licensing district.

If they have to meet all those targets then its not just short term oppertunists that will be doing it..it would need to be bonafide operators with the necessary financial clout and available man power.

Its better an out in the open and legal Bus service than Illicit or less scrupulous owners of minibuses doing what amounts to a scheduled route week in and week out with the punters knowing the score and usual loop jumping on board oblivious to whether or not its legal, sometimes its the same minibuses ferrying workers around factorys and farms for payment, if caught theyre just getting petrol money for helping out....those guys really are stealing trade from both the HC and PH alike. it happens all over the country..its not like Phlimping but just as costly.

Im beginning to wonder if it pays to be Legit

I hope JD posts the relevant sections in English so we all can understand it
or gives a brief explanation as to why the turning circle has been scraped

Sounds painful
