Two win taxi license in council prize draw
TWO people have won licenses to drive taxis in Thurrock following a draw in the Civic Offices, in Grays on Friday.
The annual hackney carriage draw is a raffle where two Hackney Carriage plates are the prize.
Councillor Ben Maney, portfolio holder for Public Protection, and Councillor Eddie Hardiman, chair of the council’s Licensing Committee, picked two winners and two substitutes from the 50 entrants.
The winners have until the end of February to present a vehicle for licensing.
The draw was witnessed by Tony Milne, a member of the Thurrock Licensed Taxi Driver Association and other members of the association.
