Orrell Park taxi driver sexually assaulted three women, Liverpool Crown Court has heard

A TAXI driver sexually attacked three girls after picking them up following separate nights out in the city centre, a Liverpool Crown Court jury was told.

James Walmsley, 37, is alleged to have picked up the young women, who did not know each other, in his black cab, but then befriended them before molesting them.

In the most serious allegation, he is accused of driving one 19-year-old customer to a deserted car park and raping her twice. Walmsley, of Lynwood Gardens, Orrell Park, denies two counts of rape and five charges of sexual assault.

He insists his victims consented and even initiated the sexual activity. But Sophie Smith, prosecuting, said: “Rather than behaving in a professional manner and driving these women home as they were expecting, he used the opportunity to sexually assault them.

“The prosecution say he operated in a somewhat sophisticated way, he employed clever tactics. “He tried to befriend them, he talked to them and tried to flatter them. He was domineering towards them.”

Miss Smith told the court Walmsley had chatted to his teenage passenger after picking her up in Dale Street. But, just yards from her home, he is alleged to have climbed into the back of her cab and began to kiss and grope her. He then drove the girl to an empty car park where he raped her twice.

The teenager reported the attack to police, but had not taken his licence number or registration plate, and her attacker remained at large. Months later, on April 5, 2008, Walmsley picked up a 17-year-old girl again on Dale Street. He is alleged to have kissed and touched her after again pulling up close to her Huyton home.

The woman ordered him to stop and managed to flee to her nearby home. She told her parents and reported the incident to police. The case continues.

It has nothing to do with it, it just shows how some councils get their priorities wrong.

just yards from her home, he is alleged to have climbed into the back of her cab

Would this be climbed as through a hole in the partition or climbed as in got out of the vehicle and entered the back door :?

How do they do this without first getting out of the vehicle :?

This is not a woman it is a child and her parents should have been more protective of her in the first place. It's a shame an alleged incident like this is what it will take before people realise the consquences of some of their decisions

And all is alleged at the moment. He hasn't been found guilty and the case continues.
