I've no problem with a 15 year limit, it'll get rid of the rent a 'K' reg shed crew overnight and that has to be good news.

I do have a problem with a 10 year limit. It's too low for a driver like me who only does limited miles every year.

If I were to buy a new TX4 today, it won't even do 190K during the next 10 years, and if I lived nearer to London, even less.

But we've seen this all before with Livingstone trying to introduce a 12 year limit.
Its all a long way away. As always there will be a compromise, plus I suspect lots of choice will be coming along over the next couple of years.

Another nail in LTIs coffin

:?

Why will making drivers update their Taxis more often put a nail in LTI's coffin?

It will increase their sales substancialy.

If Livingstone had introduced a 10 year limit the trade wouldn't have had to spend God knows how much on dubious emissions equipment. The so called 'polluters' would have been got rid of by natural wastage.

I say so called cos Road Tax K reg fairway = £225 ? Road Tax TX4 = £400

Oh yes i forgot, Ken was ranting about particulates, now it's all about CO2.

Oh the joy of being little slave puppets of our glorious leaders in Brussels!

As for age limits I would say I have always been against them...until I had the misfortune of having to drive an R reg TX1(for about 10 mins) and
then a T reg for 6 weeks following my Vito fire. Not sure what the limit should be but definately agree with one now.

Regards
Steve
