This is a bone of contention with me.
The quicker ALL COUNCILS in Great Britain license the private hire vehicles,with a back plate,and have them tested at least once a year the better.
Also it is about time that the PH carry a sticker on both sides of the cab,stating that the cab/car is PRIVATE HIRE,and MUST be booked,otherwise the insurance is null and void.
Be forceful and if a vehicle is found out to be touting illegally,scrap the said vehicle,no qualms if,but,or whatever,SCRAP.
Let us sort out our trade once and for all,the lads that are legit will agree with me,the con men,feck them.

The adverts have started doing the rounds on the local radio station about Taxis over Christmas, if they can do it over Christmas why can't they do it all year long?????

They should be educating them about the difference between a taxi and a ph vehicle and until they do confussion will still reign.

Last year watch dog did a piece about a bogus taxi driver in london raping dozens of women, and that is what they called him a bogus taxi driver, he was not he did not drive a black cab he drove a people carrier, so in my mind he was a bogus private hire vehicle.

Whilst the campangnes continue to put accross the wrong message the general public will get just more confussed.
