Mohammed bin Rashid orders payment of AED26.3m bonus to taxicab plate holders in Dubai

14 May 2011

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the payment of AED26,372,000 to Emiratis whose taxicab number plates are operated by the Dubai Taxi Corporation and Taxi Franchise Companies at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA); the number of which is 6593 plates.

RTA Public Transport Agency will start distribution of the bonus to the entitled beneficiaries, over and above their annual financial dues.

H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, thanked HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for rewarding taxi plate holders, who were mostly among fixed income group, and enabling them to better cope with the requirements of life and earn a decent living for them and their families.

"These bonuses are part of many other generous gestures we are accustomed to from HH; which are a true testament to the support accorded by HH to his people and the attention made to their social affairs and living conditions, particularly those with fixed incomes. It further illustrates the keenness of HH to provide good living to all members of the community and steps up the existing social solidarity concepts among individuals" concluded Al Tayer.

That's 4 grand each!!

FFS!!

Oh but wait a bit, . . . 1 United Arab Emirates dirham = 0.168350853 British pounds

So that's £673.40p each.

Still that's better than a kick in the nuts!!

Are you reading this Mr Cameron?
