Your's certainly does with a driver who works full time in one job then dives on your car till there's nothing left but seagulls and the first bus is on eh ? And you call me a hypocrite =; don't make me laugh.. you and the rest of Tony's cronies care not one jot about the Trade except for what you can take out to fill you're own selfish pockets !

Personally I don't understand your thread and if I had my way, it would be owner operators only, it's the drivers and the taxi offices who are holding this trade to ransom, if every operator drove their own car like I do then there wouldn't be any reason why the trade couldn't invest in their business, the trade are only interested in what's beneficial for them and them only but if they got of their fat ars* and did the work themselves rather than put any Tom Dick or Harry in the seat and also stopped spending every night in the pub, maybe then we could see the trade improve, but that as you no will never happen.

If new on inception and an age limit were to be brought in maybe then we will clean the trade up, when you have people in the trade that come out earn enough to go on the swally, then these are the people who will disappear and trust me they won't be missed, if the council goes down this road maybe then we could get back to earning a living and get the SH*TE out of the game all together.

Unfortunately I will have retired long before this trade ever gets cleaned up

Must admit....agreed.

[quote="Over & Out"]

it's the drivers and the taxi offices

[quote="Over & Out"]

Now i disagree because you pay an office in order to accquire an income from a driver :?

[quote="Over & Out"]

when you have people in the trade that come out earn enough to go on the swally

[quote="Over & Out"]

One less car to compete with..so why moan ?? mind you if all the operators who have more than one plate and, were genuinely concerned about numbers and POLLUTION..they would follow suit by taking a car out of service and returning the plate.. no ???..........did'nt think so !

If his proposal goes through, it will result in hundreds of London-style 12, 13 and 14-year-old taxis on the streets adding to the air quality problem.

London Mayor Boris Johnson implemented a 15 yr age limit on purpose built vehicles..so now you're telling me that what's good enough for them..ain't for Dundee ??

Mind you..with 21 and counting our Taxi numbers will soon be on a par with the U.K. Capital :shock:

I don't get it with Dundee.

Why should they have non wheelchair compliant vehicles in their fleet?

They shouldn't, but the saloon vested interests ensure they do. :sad:
