Taxi Driver Online

Taxis in Stamford were today threatened with fines for using the temporary Friday rank at the bus station ( 3 years now and no sign of a proper replacement for the one they took off us)

why ? well it is because one complained about the number of private vehicles choking up the space and a council parking warden ALLEGEDLY handed out parking tickets to customers and relatives of the operator of the bus station cafe

The council denies issuing penalty tickets to any motorists using the bus station and the licensing department claim to have assurances from the department responsible that the taxis have permission to be there

The plot thickens then so after yours truly has had one blazing row with the owners of the cafe this morning apparently it was one of my drivers photographed the illegal parking and sent the photos in which triggered the alleged fines I think another looms because an awful lot of people are telling completely different stories here and an awful lot of drivers are somewhat miffed about it

Get that in writing and give a copy to every cab driver that uses that 'rank'.
