I think some LAs ban advertising for cigarettes and alchohol.

I think LA's need to ammend the taxi advertising rules in two ways.

1) Advertising of alcoholic products should be permitted. It is in Glasgow (because I've seen some lovely Vodka Kick liveries there), and that's done no harm.

2) Also, many LA's do not allow a cab to carry advertising for more than one company or product. This is complete nonsense. I have heard of instances where car dealerships have had to remove their taxi liveries because they have advertised two businesses - there own, and the manufacturer's.

And if LA's are going to deregulate - then drivers need to advertise as much as possible to generate an extra source of income.
