wont the soaring price only last as long as the war lasts ?
No chance, oil is a finite resource, there is simply not enough to go around. We need it, and they have it, and as long as we are almost totally dependent on oil, wars will be fought to control its supply. Although, in this case, I think it's about the dollar as the worlds reserve currency, and what America stands to lose when the whole system collapses. How can you buy oil and fight wars, when the dollar isn't worth squat?
So the system has to be reset with America still on top as the Global Super Power.
I think this is why Saudi Arabia is more than happy to lend a hand because America is a huge consumer of oil, and they have all the weapons. It's a bit of a, you scratch my back... situation. That's why the Saudis are pumping oil faster than they ever have and why America has Iran between the cross hairs.
Think of America with a worthless dollar and not enough oil? I'm sure you get the picture. Oh and I should add, we're [edited by admin] also because our currency is tied in with theirs.
Oh and before anyone says, it's about Iran acquiring Nuclear weapons, it's all bollix. America has more high tech conventional and Nuclear weapons, than Iran has ever dreamed about.

In short, it's about who has the biggest toys and controls almost all the oil, wins.
