Man held over Milngavie 'taxi' sex attack

A man has been arrested in connection with an indecent assault that took place almost a year and a half ago.

The 43-year-old man has been linked to the assault of a 21-year-old woman on 19 February last year.

The woman got into what she believed to be a private hire car in Glassford Street in Glasgow city centre.

She was driven to Auchenhowie Road in Milngavie, about six miles away, where she was indecently assaulted by the male driver.

The woman did not require hospital treatment but was shaken and distressed by the incident.

A report about the arrest of the man will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
