sorry guys the region i am in is north west (widnes) i think we can all agree on one thing and that is the job is hard enough without having to bring in the local council and causing what did actually happen in an area of manchester, that dreaded word DEREGULATION! i dont wish to see it in the town i am in and think the best way to prevent it would be to keep the local council out of any silly squabbles that may arise ... mediation between the parties involved would decrease the input of council especially the guy who now runs our shop ... the very same john finlow who deregulated stockport.

I'm sure you mean de-limitation Jim, not deregulation, but I'm at a loss as why a PH assocaition should be bothered about de-limitation of the cab trade. I have always worked in a de-limited PH trade, as no-doubt have you.

So why are you fighting for what you already have? :-k

this is to inform you that i/we are in the process of starting the PHA (Private Hire Association) and intend on recruiting members to combat the never ending issues arising in the industry today ... if you would like to follow our progress and announce us you can find us here http://www.scaryland.co.uk/ipb/index.php

Just a few questions that you might answer for a man of constant sorrow.

Who is in charge of the website? Will the website be professionally run? What is your policy in regard to troublemakers? What is your policy for Banning undesirables? What is your policy in respect of misrepresentation and defamation?

I have several other questions but they can wait.

JD

i own the server and website ... the site will be manned by professional people and updated on a regular basis ... i dont expect to see troublemakers on the site but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world but if i was to see any i would take advice straight after i banned there ass! ... misrepresentation and defamation wont be tolerated and any individuals found to be doing such gross acts will be traced and reported to there local council for the act committed ... the site is in the interest of all concerned ... it will be utilized in a very union way with legal advice sort on matters that require attention from members who are in a state of distress. i own a site with 2k plus members on and this is moderated in the proper manor ... i wish for members to report any misdemeanors with detailed actions so we may look into the matter and take the appropriate action on there behalf ... racism issues will be reported to the relevant authorities along with harassment or enticement to violent behavior by fellow private hire / hackney ... all evidence will be gathered and reported to the local authorities.

I went out at 10 last night and finished at 4-15 and grossed about 210. I would be interested to know how you guys did down there for the same number of hours?

About the same for those hours on a Thu, Fri, or Sat. Sunday can be a strange one depending on the station traffic.
I will find out in an hour. :?:

I see on the site that you ask a quite valid question about who asked the PH trade for a view?

I think you will find that anyone could have sent a representation to OFT, I know at least one PH that did.

That fact that not many HC or PH sent in their views, comes as no surprise to me, one little bit. Maybe the National PH trade sent stuff in, but when did they ever ask you or me if they truely represented our views?

the only think the local trade down here are interested in is there plates and the values attached to them.
they couldnt give a dam about anything else.
apart from that is keeping taxi drivers out of brighton stattion.

and the firms are just one cosy cartel. Akthough i think one of them is out for a fight.Maybe a divorce is on the cards.
interesting times.
