Fechin ridiculous...why bother issuing points if they count for nowt,better banning the guy before he kills someone on the road. let his family suffer, mines would if I had that many points.

People like this would probably not be bothered by a ban. They would just keep on driving. They wouldn't tax or insure their vehicle either. They would just buy the cheapest car that they can and run it until it gets impounded and then get another. The fine imposed by the courts will never cost as much as buying a decent car and running legally. We live in quite a rural location and I have heard several people boasting about how they don't bother taxing and insuring their cars because they never take them into town. They keep them in the garage when at home so that the DVLA and police can't see them. They never put their correct details on the V5 so unless they are very unlucky, they get away with it.
