Addison Lee CEO steps down after a decade at the top

The CEO of London-based Addison Lee has stood down from his position at the 40 year-old company.

It has been announced today that Liam Griffin will take on a new role of Vice Chairman. Andy Boland, currently Chief Financial Officer, will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect following a resolution of the Board last month. Mr Boland joined Addison Lee in early 2015 from the AA where he served as CFO.

Liam Griffin (pictured) has been involved with the company for some 20 years, as Managing Director for 10 years and taking over as CEO since the company’s acquisition by the Carlyle Group in 2013. During his time as CEO, Addison Lee continued to perform strongly as a business with profits up 50% between 2013 and 2014.

In his new role as Vice Chairman, Mr Griffin will focus on helping to grow Addison Lee’s UK and international business, and pursuing business acquisitions and he remains the company’s single biggest personal shareholder.

Liam Griffin commented; “It has been a pleasure to serve as Addison Lee’s CEO and I am grateful to all of the company’s staff and drivers for everything that they have done to make it the success that it is today. I continue to be excited about the company’s prospects and I look forward to focusing on helping to continue to grow the business and identify targets for acquisition.”

Andy Boland commented; “The private hire industry is one of the most exciting and fast moving markets in business at present. For many years Addison Lee has set the standards in terms of safety, reliability and value, and I’m excited about working with our customers, employees and drivers to ensure that the business continues to grow. We have a great team at Addison Lee and I look forward to working in close partnership with Liam Griffin and the rest of the Board to deliver our future success.”
