Taxi driver accused of drug driving in Newport

AN ISLE of Wight taxi driver will stand trial later this year, accused of drug driving.

Tahir Ishaque, of Shore Road, Bonchurch, Ventnor, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, May 30.

The 54-year-old denied drug driving in Newport, on February 7.

He is alleged to have been pulled over by police after officers spotted him outside Asda and noted the smell of cannabis.

Mr Ishaque saw his case adjourned for a trial at the same venue on August 26.

He was granted unconditional bail.
