Nothing particularly surprising about this :-|

Two photos of the other car, but none of the 'taxi'.

Doesn't sound like any serious injuries, though, and sounds like the taxi driver not injured at all.

Police are trying to find a driver involved in a crash involving a taxi in Coventry in the early hours of Sunday morning (31 August). Emergency services, including fire, ambulance and police crews, rushed to the scene in Holbrooks around 1am.

Passengers in a taxi had to be rescued by fire fighters using specialist equipment. The driver of the second car involved is said to have fled the scene - police now wish to locate the individual.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police "We are carrying out enquiries after a collision in Wheelwright Lane, Coventry. We were called shortly before 1am after a two-car collision.

"Officers attended to support Ambulance Service colleagues and are now working to find the occupants of one of the cars involved."

A spokesman for Foleshill Fire Station said: "We were called to a two car road traffic collision at Holbrook Lane at the junction with Hen Lane at around 1am.

"A driver of one car had fled the scene. For the second car, a taxi with two passengers, we had to extricate the passengers using Holmatro cutting equipment.

"Police were in attendance at the scene, as were our colleagues from the ambulance service who treated patients before taking them to hospital."

We have approached West Midlands Ambulance Service for more information.
