A bit confusing this at first. Noticed this a few days ago, but forgot to post it, and no one else did.

Eastbourne Police release image after report of assault on taxi driver in Lewes: victim taken to hospital with serious injuries

https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/cr ... es-5342592

Police said a man was taken to hospital following reports of an assault in Lewes this August.

Eastbourne Police released an image on Facebook on Thursday, October 2.

So the date seemed wrong, since it appeared in the press a few days ago :?

But what happened is that the assault in Lewes was originally posted on the Lewes Police Facebook page.

But today the same message has been posted on the Eastbourne Police Facebook page, hence the date in the press piece above.

So presumably they haven't got their man, and maybe it's thought he may be from Eastbourne about 17 miles east of Lewes.

Anyway, this is the latest post, which is identical to the original one.

Not the best photo, but you'd think that if anyone knows him they'd recognise him from the image.

Do you recognise this man?

Officers would like to speak to him in connection with a report of an assault on a taxi driver in Lewes, which took place on 16 August just after midnight.

The victim – a man in his 50s – was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have so far been unable to trace the man and are now appealing for the public’s assistance to identify him.

If you recognise him, or have any information that could help, please contact police online or call 101, quoting serial 19 of 16/08.

Both Eastbourne and Lewes share the same licensing team, but they don't share the same police division.

Maybe the thug mentioned Eastbourne before he bashed the driver. Let's hope the police find out who he is.

Or maybe he has moved his caravan.
