Not quite your usual suspect in terms of age and, er, other stuff :?

(And I've never come across the word penial before, but apparently it's an alternative to penile, but I'd guess the vast majority would know the latter...)

And I'd guess the football club involved is quite an obscure junior team, or whatever, so the headline maybe overegging that a bit. On the other hand, maybe some of the charges are related to that role, so it may be relevant to it all, but most of this relates to the taxi angle.

A former football club chairman and taxi driver is on trial accused multiple sexual offences against women. Nicky O'Connor is alleged to have sexually assaulted or exposed himself to a series of women at locations ranging from a Swansea supermarket car park to Merthyr town centre and a village on Gower.

His alleged victims include an off-duty police woman, a college student, and a passenger in his cab. The 35-year-old defendant denies a total of 15 counts and is on trial at Swansea Crown Court.

At the time of the alleged offending - which is said to have happened between February 2023 and October 2024 - O'Connor was chairman of Swansea's Plough Colts FC and a taxi driver for the Oyster Cabs company.

Giving evidence from the witness box, O'Connor denied exposing his penis to a fare he had picked up in his cab from Swansea's Wind Street in 2023.

O'Connor told the court his passenger had been "very drunk" and there had been talk of sexual matters, and he said when they got to their destination the woman had asked him into her house but he had said no to her.

The defendant denied exposing his penis to the woman, denied showing her a "sex video" he had previously made, and denied locking her in the cab.

The defendant told the court he had been wearing shorts while driving the taxi and that he routinely wore shorts for comfort reasons because of "problems down there".

The court heard O'Connor has a long history penial pain, discomfort, discharges, and "burning" sensations for which he has sought medical help.

In response to questions from his barrister Thomas Stanway, the defendant also denied trying to kiss a woman in Murton on Gower, denied touching a woman's buttocks in Cwmbwrla Park in Swansea, and denied exposing his penis to a woman and sexually touching her.

Nicholas Wynford Keith O'Connor, formerly of Caryl Terrace, Plasmarl, Swansea, but now of Waun Fawr, Cwmrhydyceirw, Swansea, denies nine counts of exposure, five counts of sexual assault, and one count of attempted sexual assault.

The trial continues.
