HEADLINE: Letter: You say - Scruffy taxi drivers

I AM a Turkish national but have lived in the UK for almost 15 years. I recently moved to the north west, having secured a financial position in Liverpool.

Liverpool is a beautiful city' a city with culture' a city with history' a city made up mostly of great people. In view of this it is with disappointment that every day I step from the train at Liverpool Lime Street to be greeted by what can only be described as a band of ragamuffin taxi drivers.

The city is working so hard to improve its image and it is so sad to see it being let down by an unfriendly, scruffy group of cabbies. If the language isn't bad enough, then certainly the dress code, or lack of it to be more precise, is. Can I suggest a simple dress code of white shirt and black tie for the city's taxi drivers.

Dressing more professionally would be the first step to acting more professionally.

this guy sounds like a knob, if he wants to conform to a uniform then [edited by admin] off back to the office.

also note how he likes to put his qualifications after his name, basically it further points out how much of a knob he is.

I bet some scouser told him where to go.

Without trying to sound too blunt, I think this man is an AR$3HOLE.

He's got a string of letters after his name, so what? He's one of these men who is right above himself and personally, I would not want him in my cab even if he was going on a long job.

I know Liverpool's cabbies have recently received some bad press, but in all honesty, I can say that the city's drivers and their vehicles are as good as, if not better than, those in most parts of the UK.

This man is just jumping on the bandwagon and will probably complain about the food in every restaurant he visits, the service in every bar he drinks in and everything else he can moan about.

Liverpool is definitely one of the most welcoming cities anyone could visit but I'll tell you something, Liverpool people would not want this man in the city.
