You have been given information that is incorrect. Statements from witnesses are not under caution. As I said it is a caption that states that it is true etc etc. As for any recourse, from what they have told you so far, I doubt very much if the Licensing Office have the knowledge to advise you. Have you seen the statements from the person that complained? Ask for it to be disclosed to you. It will probably come with the name and address of the complainant edited out. I take it that there is not to be a prosecution. Ask if they will be forwarding it to the Police if you believe it is false and malicious. I doubt if they will because it has not been used in evidence.

Oldbloke/Sussex - I have a letter of reply from the L.O stating that the complaint was made under caution, basically I am trying to find out if I have any recourse against false accusations as this could happen again in the future.

Regards John

If it had made the court then section 65 of the 1847 act would have helped, but I think the only avenue of redress now is via the courts for slander.

In short don't bother, but I would understand if you did.
