Sorry about that slip up i am new and unfamiliar with this forum.anyway i got in an e7 and i was holding on to the door frame as i pulled myself in and the driver jammed my fingers my fingers in the door. He was really nice he took me up to casualty and waited on me luckily i hadn't broken anything just badly cut.but the point i am getting at is there seems a lot of people being taxi drivers in dundee with no experience whatsoever i know accidents happen as that other person said but seems a lot are happening in dundee.

the council are making them run these vehicles and they wont let them run saloons, so as usual its the councils fault.

As you imply taxi badges in dundee have always been handed out to any tom dick or harry, but because its always been saloons its been Ok if they are inexperienced.

Thank you for your reply i am glad i am not the only one thinking this that the council are getting away with unqualified people dealing with vulnerable citezins in dundee. is there anywhere i can get my point across in dundee about the situation.

yeh,try getting in touch with the princess royal trust or daytag, but do not try and get in touch with D>C>Thomson or the Dundee City Council,as they do not want to know.
There is a serious accident waiting to happen, then the two latter will start blaming it on the trade as usual.
Absolute shambles by Dundee City Council, transportation dept.,plus Licensing commitee.

Angry tax payer

i completed the standard disability course in dundee which all drivers must attend and part of it was showing how to push a wheelchair complete with passenger into a minibus and how to harness them in and seatbelt them in, guess what the eurobuses and e7,s are?minibuses,
but i do agree more could be done maybe even a short course practising with all the new vehicles allowed on ,this would of course have to be completed by all 2000 badge holders and not just wav owners, dundee council handed out letters this week to all wav owners explaining the taxicard situation, all will have to participate but the swipe machines which 203020 have will not be used at the moment, wavs will be able to get work through their own offices for a year then the council plan to do a survey (tick different boxes stuff)amongs the taxicard holders ,this sounds to me like good news everyone knows who the card holders want to phone without a survey ,handys have the most wavs with teles coming second
if providing a service is included in the survey then surely the choice must be to give both offices the contract between them, i wont say which office has the least wavs ill leave you to work that one out yourselves, i read a posting which i cant find now about removing one seat from eurobuses
to get a wheelchair in you can do this but there is a cost also you will have to retest you cab as itwill be no longer lisenced for seven but six, dont try and remove one without retesting as you wont be insured, also remember and keep the insurance company informed, iv,e already told my driver if he is not happy removing the seats i will have one removed but as of yet he has,t done a single wheelchar job.....

Does not matter who has the most Wavs,tele/handy,it depends on who gives the service.
Tele had the most a few years ago and it was a shambles and drivers gave up their vehicles.

but the main issue regarding service is how long you wait for a cab a five minute wait for a brand new vehicle which is capable of the job is more preferable than a forty five minute wait for a tx2,, how many wavs are you talking about when you mention teles years ago six maybe, for the whole of dundee,
between the two offices they must have around sixty vehicles by now who else can rival that? at the end of the day its going to boil down to who can get a taxi sitting outside a door the quickest, the dozen or so wheelchair jobs ive done are more than happy with my cab its just a pity they dont have acess to the internet so they can come on this site and tell you what a difference all this has made to their dailly lives,at least seven of the jobs ive done have offered to take my phone number and contact me personally ,but i haven,t done this as i dont want puntted out of my office,
teles took out a full page advertisement in the tele yesterday promoting wheelchair vehicles this will bring in extra work for all vehicles as customers do not need wavs all the time and when they realise how quick teles/handys are they will continue to phone them....

ill tell you what 203020 did for me they got me a hack thats what and i thank them for it, no one not even me (i like to think iknow everything i know i dont but i still like to think i do)could have forseen how many were prepared to put up the cash for wavs, and persoinally i think this has backfired, there has been three council meetings this year but so far no new plates from 203020 whats the hold up?on monday night i talked to one of your drivers as i judge all badge holders the same , he estimated three cars on ,handys had approx 50 ,i went home very happy i hope all 203020 drivers did too, as i have said in previous posts everyone is entitled to make a living but ,halving fares to get ahead was just taking the pxxxs, plus from my view the council have bent over backwards to help them for some reason, we are now about three years on and despite all the taxi gossip 203020 are still here,, fair enough there is enough work for all, but as i said earlier servivce falls into three catorigies ,waiting time for cab, state of cab, state and attitude of driver,
here is a test anyone can do
ask someone about the last taxi journey they took
first ask which kind of vehicle it was then ask what condition it was in (the chances are they wont know the vehicle or notice the condition unless its a heaper),
next ask about the driver again it,ll probably be i cant remember,
now ask how long it took to arrive, this is where you will get most replys
as this is what concerns users most ,with over 300 taxis teles are the company which dundonians are going to click on too by the way who is going to drive these 203020 wavs should they appear....

First,how long have you taxied?
How long have you wheelchair conveyed?
What other companies have you worked for?
How long will your enthuasism Last?.
Are the other companys and drivers numpties and only you know best?

Wait for another twelve months and see the state of the taxi trade in Dundee, then post your unbiased views on this forum.

My view is,it will be tough,203020,will still be here, two or possibly more new offices will emerge, people will realise the ammount of Wheelchair Bound customers, there really is.
The exsisting lads that had the wavs for the disabled people, will still have their hard core customers and there may be a few casualties with the new
operator, finding it difficult to make a Decent living.

In twenty four months time, contracts will be cut to the bone, and I mean all contracts, and the offices will still have their fees to survive, but what about the drivers and operators.

I am normally a happy chappy and hopefully,I am blethering a load of garbage, but I think if you look at the bigger picture scenario, regarding
all that I have said, plus the way businesses are in Dundee, with the growth only in new taxi plates and supermarkets,oh and also the revamping of circles on the Kingsway, latter tongue in cheek, not much growth outwith these.

Sleep tight,Smiler Magoo

Come on girls and boys, that posting was very cheeky,Dah,Pretty Polly,Jim and Bert, could not have posted individually,as the postings were all the same, down to the mis-spelling.
Anyway unlike some of the people that post on here,I like your company, not a lot,but a wee bit.

Would like to join you,but teles would not like it.

luv,SCOTT,no only jesting,luv,DIYOUNOKENME?.
