Stoke taxi attack hushed up by police and media

1st July 2007

Staffordshire Police and the local media have been quick to cover up the horrific assault on a local lad by a gang of Muslim taxi drivers in Stoke.

This evening (1st) Shaun Middleton lies unconscious in a high dependency unit in Stoke with suspected blood clots to the brain and a fractured spine/neck plus other injuries consistent with a severe beating.

This morning his friends, many who are Catholics went to church and said prayers for Shaun in an atmosphere charged with emotion, fear and dread.

Shaun, a resident of Blythe Bridge, had enjoyed a night out in nearby Stone with friends on Friday having earlier taken a taxi ride the 8 mile journey to Stone and paid £11.00 for the fare. The same Asian owned private hire vehicle ferried the trio back from Stone to Blythe Bridge and the driver demanded £22.00 for the fare. Shaun, described as a “reserved quiet lad”, made the mistake of questioning the fare, at which point the
driver sped the four miles to the unofficial waiting area by Pizza Hut in Longton where Shaun was dragged out of the car, set upon and given a severe beating by six or more Asian Muslims which was witnessed by his pal and distraught girlfriend.

Media and police silence

The brutal attack has not been mentioned once in any of the local news outlets, Staffs Police have failed to provide and issue a description of the attackers and there is every chance that another passenger who questions the fare of a Muslim driver could face the same brutal form of justice. Professional indigenous taxi drivers deal with fare dodgers by locking the doors of their cabs and driving the passengers to the nearest police station. There is however no case here that Shaun and his two friends were fare dodgers, quite the opposite; they had the money to pay what they believed was the correct return fare. Shaun was not given the opportunity of explaining his version of events to a police officer or to strike a deal with the driver, he had his head bashed in by at least six Muslim thugs.

If the situation was reversed it would no doubt have been headline news – “white racist thugs attack Muslim passenger” complete with all the usual sickening accompaniments from the Police, the local MP, the race equality advisers and the Muslim apologists.

Boycott

So we say that if the media and the Police want to hush up this sickening unprovoked racist attack on one of our people, then that’s fine, that’s their decision but every decision, every action has consequences. The BNP which is the only political party to mention the attack and which is the only political party which cares about the welfare and security of our (the indigenous British) people has a ready answer to this disgrace. We now call on the good people of Stoke to say enough is enough. Until Staffordshire Police announce the arrests of the racist Muslim thugs who carried out the brutal assault on young Shaun Middleton, we call on the people of Stoke to send a signal to the taxi driving racist thugs and to boycott all Muslim owned minicab and taxi business.

Although the private hire business in Stoke seems to have become an almost total Muslim monopoly, as is true in over a hundred towns in the UK, there are a few native British taxi drivers in the area who can be hired and there are alternatives such as weekend night buses, arranging lifts with family and friends, going out with an appointed non-drinking driver, or just walking home.

Everyone in the Potteries can show their support for young Shaun, his girlfriend and his family by just walking away from a Muslim owned vehicle, choosing not to call up a Muslim owned cab firm. It doesn’t cost any money; it doesn’t even need to cause great inconvenience if there is a bit of advance planning. It isn’t unlawful, it isn’t discrimination; any would-be passenger (customer) can choose whoever he or she wants to conduct a business arrangement, which is exactly what a taxi ride is – a business deal between driver and passenger.

Shaun’s parents and family are tonight seeking comfort together, trying to come to terms with the fact that Shaun lies silent and still, hooked up to every piece of equipment that can help save his life but uncertain what news tomorrow will bring.

Our thoughts, our prayers go out to young Shaun, his family and his loved ones. May he make a swift and full recovery.

Disturbing news which initial inquiries with junior licensing officials at Stoke licensing department reveal no knowledge of the incident but I'm sure TDO will get to the bottom of it.

Perhaps the vehicle in question was unlicensed but all the same such a brutal attack and the circumstances under which it allegedly took place was newsworthy in itself.

Is there any truth to this or is it just BNP propaganda?

From what I can Gather he was indeed in Hospital so that part rings true. The Pizza Hut was either the one in Meir or Longton. There is a cab firm outside the Pizza Hut in Longton and there is an unnoficial rank I believe near to the Pizza Hut in Meir. Longton has a firm called Autocabs more or less facing the Pizza Hut but having spoken their office they seem to know nothing of the incident and they haven't been contacted by the police. Therefore suspicion moves to the unofficial Meir rank which is closest to where this alleged victim lives in Blythe Bridge.

I obtained this off Yahoo answers website, it would appear two people have been questioned.

The big hearted English community has this week shown its concern for one of its own who was beaten in a savage attack by a gang of no-white taxi-drivers in Stoke last weekend.

Emails expressing outrage at the horrific attack, which has left 26 year old Shaun Middleton in intensive care at a Staffordshire hospital, and sympathy for the family, have poured into local mp’s inboxes in the past few days.

I am delighted to be able to report that Shaun’s condition is improving and that the swelling of the brain has reduced and that his condition is no longer life-threatening. Medical staff suggest that his otherwise good health and youthful age are factors improving his condition.

Further good news can be reported after Stoke Police arrested and questioned two men suspected of being involved in the attack. Two men; one a 26 year old and the other a 27 year old were released on police bail.

Cards and message of support to Shaun’s family should be sent to: Shaun Middleton
c/o P.O Box 2641,
Stoke-on-Trent,
Staffs.
ST3 9AS.

A limited account of this incident was reported in the local press on July 11th. Therefore it would be wrong to suggest that the local press did not report the incident.

It has been reported elswhere that the local press did not report this incident but it is quite obvious that the local press did report it to the best of their ability with the limited information they had to hand at the time.

I hate to have to agree with the BNP, but they are right about one thing.
The media would have turned it into a feeding frenzy if it had been an asian passenger and white drivers.

Well someone's obviously not disclosing the true facts, but it is worrying that in effect the BNP have acted as judge and jury on the matter and perhaps prejudiced a fair trial.

We've all had disputes over fares, and we all know how stupid people can be over them; indeed, almost spoiling for a fight.

Not that I know what's happened here, but I'd prefer to hear both sides of the story before commenting.

We don't really know all the facts of this altercation but by the time TDO has finished investigating the incident you will know the facts.

Lets hope we can get the true story out quickly. Lack of the facts just plays into the hands of the BNP

Well Dusty highlighted at least one major discrepancy which you must admit was totally blown out of proportion. I think once all the facts are substantiated you will be left in no doubt as to what transpired and the possible causes.
