Kaiser is in the right ball park. To run a company like City Cabs the market rate would be £100-150k per annum. Then you'd need some form of middle management say at least 4 bodies on salaries ranging from £25,000 to £60,000. You're just not going to get the staff with the right requisite skill set otherwise.

So your alternative to a professionally run business, is a thousand cabs with a bowling club committee running the show? And you also think, that by comparison, the operation of two almost identical companies with two sets of committees paying themselves ridiculous salaries and buying the work through their members radio dues, is the way to go?

I'd prefer not to employ a full time Management team for a cab company and even if it was 1000 strong, I like the idea of bringing in specific consultants and only where required, City Cabs did this with the airport tender, a fee and a thank you is all that's required, freeing up members dues for marketing, PR, investing in people, investing in technology, apps and most importantly keeping members dues at a very reasonable level, dues I may add that are covered by the extras I earn being a part of the circuit of my choice, I'm content with my status
