isnt the barrier the fairest system in place at the moment ....?
isnt it in use at railway stations and some airports already...!!

you only pay for each job you do from a swipe card that you put money onto...!!

if so you will only pay over the year for as much as you want to do...?

Do you mean the council issue licenses?

JD

I mean that if there's a problem with standards they go through the licensing department, they have no authority over the Taxi Trade

you're quite correct it is the fairest option but they were not being given the option

I think the barrier system is a good one. As long as the money comes in, I don't think the airport give a dam how it does.

I also think the airport trying to improve service standards is a good one.

I think the Liverpool hackney trade would agree with that view....... but I think that they do not like a middle man coming in and trying to use them as an easy source of income...

The barrier system is without doubt the fairest way of making payment. It therefore puts into perspective the restrictive practice of incumbent Birmingham permit holders at New Street Station, who were strongly against a barrier system.

I am at this moment refering to GNER permit contract, "GNER will accept Council standards for taxis, but have the rights to impose our own standards which could be higher than the Councils"

one instance is they GNER [to which I refer] can inspect taxis on their land and can be removed, its all in the small print

this Liverpool saga sounds very much like the York GNER introduction of permits 4 or 5 years ago when we was threatened with the words Taxibank and Frazer Eagle

Yes come on Captain spit it out !

I wouldn't hold you breath, we're still waiting to hear who the mythical taxi company in Manchester is that allowed Trafford Cabs on their radio system?

Apparently it's classified information and shall not be divulged under any circumstances.

What did he say? lol, I can't see anything in this thread? So who is the private hire company that allowed Trafford hackney cabs on their system?

Surely you still can't be claiming diplomatic privilege? You won't be castigated if it was a mistake, we all make those? lol

Regarding Liverpool airport, I understand there are moves afoot, hence the cessation.

I can claim immunity, it is my inalienable right

But it is happening and I think its quite sad Manchester not being able to cope with demand.

I don't see any correlation with Liverpool Airport and Trafford cabs working a private hire radio system in Manchester, do you? Does anybody else? You told us several weeks ago that Trafford cabs were working a P/H radio circuit in Manchester, all we are asking for is a little proof? Is that too difficult to ask from a respected member of the NTA?
