I was under the impression we had already posted these proposals, are they so good that we have to post them twice?

Regards

Does anyone know if there have been any developments since this was originally posted?

I suppose lots of chatting and moaning, but nothing concrete will come out of these proposals for many many months, maybe even years.

Sounds Like a great Idea, The Limiting of Hours driven will ensure early but enforced retirement on all operators which means that in time the few reamaing operators who can get away with charging £5 per passenger mile will be able to take us redundant owners back on to cover there own shortfall in hours which they cant work ....this equates to exactly the same amount of drivers, driving half the amount of customers at 6 times the current price......see! every cloud has a silver lining after all...good old Draft Bill...

Drivers hours should be regulated.

How this will work is beyond me if drivers hours are limited how do we make a living

All vehicle should be able to travel anywhere in England and Wales at the same maximum fares.

good idea and set at the middle of the present fare league, thats in taxi and PH monthly, some may have to take a cut and others gain a rise

The algorithm used to set tariffs would need to reflect this. The consequence would be that taxi fares would have to increase substantially.

However, is this unreasonable. The restriction on driving hours could be argued to increase public safety.

Shouldn't a premium be paid to fund this?
