I don't know if this union could be described as a match made in heaven or whether or not it could be said that they were made for each other? However I don't suppose it will be long before the fleet street knives are being sharpened in readiness for the verdict of this case.

Regards

I'll be glad when all this is over, Jade Goody being portrayed as some sort of hero, what about Jane Tomlinson the woman who was dying of breast cancer? She ran loads of marathons, she rode a bike from Italy to Yorkshire, she rode a bike across America, she went from Jon O Groats to Lands End (on a bike) she raised millions for charity has she got a multi million pound pay off from OK magazine? Did she get a massive funeral? No she went without half as much as a local news bulletin mentioning her name. Google Jane Tomlinson and you'll see how much she raised for cancer charities.

Jane Tomlinson 2
Jane Tomlinson 3

I can't stand that Jade goody she's a racist bigot

Your last comment might seem a little harsh in the circumstances Nigel but I totally agree with you about Jane Tomlinson. Top human being!

Tweed may appeal assault sentence
Tuesday, April 14 02:14 pm

Jack Tweed, the widower of reality television star Jade Goody, is considering an appeal after being jailed for assaulting a taxi driver. Skip related content

The 21-year-old, of Buckhurst Hill, Essex, was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody after attacking Stephen Wilkins following a night out in Epping, Essex in May last year.

Magistrates in Harlow, Essex, told Jack that they would have passed a longer sentence had it not been for his "change in personal circumstances".

Mother-of-two Jade, who married Tweed in February, died last month following a battle with cancer.

After Tuesday's hearing, Jack's solicitor said the family felt the sentence was too harsh.

"The family are devastated and feel that Jack has been treated more severely because of who he is," he said. "We are considering the prospects of an appeal."

Jack, who was ordered to pay £455 costs and £200 compensation to Mr Wilkins, was told he would serve half of his sentence in custody.

Margaret Webb, magistrates chairwoman, said: "We have borne in mind the recent change in your personal circumstances and have reflected this in the length of the sentence, which would otherwise have been 18 weeks."

Jack was convicted last month of assaulting Mr Wilkins, who is in his 50s, following a trial in Epping.

Jack, who wore a grey suit with open-collared white shirt at Tuesday's hearing, bowed his head as he was sentenced, before being handcuffed and led away by security staff. His mother, Mary, was comforted as she sobbed while leaving court.

Heart bleeds for him, and her.

She should be ashamed of what she has brought up.

Surely it'll take more than 6 weeks for the ink to dry on any appeal he lodges, I don't see the point.

Apart from which I don't see the reasoning behind sentencing somebody to 12 weeks with the intention of only making them serve half of it :?

could he get bailed while awaiting his appeal? its true it coul dtak e6 months to be heard

The attack happened while Tweed was on bail for another assault, on a 16-year-old boy in December 2006.

If he was on bail at the time, why wasnt he locked up/remanded till his trial for this offence, thats the point of bail, you promise to behave?

ok, lets take bets how long till he offends after his release?

24 hours..... 10-1
1 week....... 5-1
1 month...... 3-1
3 months.... evens
6 months.... 2-1
1 year......... 7/4

i hope all that money she raised for the kids is secure
