I never said it was you who had removed my three posts.

Still, all water under the bridge, but I know it won't happen on here, so here I shall stay.

I'm sure the 8 anti LTDA / DAC gang members will be pushing their beer bellies out with joy. :D

i'm saying i'd be surprised if any of the mods removed the threads. If they did then there must of been a reason and not simply because it was you.......perhaps it was under one the many names you signed in as (and possbily still do) but as you say, water under the bridge.

Proved a point though.

Attack the poster and not the content.

Plus it exposed a 'security' glitch in the forums platform by allowing multiple usernames under the same I.P, a feature this board flags up for you.

Like Mr A posting under Andersonshelter and LondonJim . . . :D

Not working tonight?

Bored over there Dizzy?

No Losty, our membership is the fastest growing throughout the country at the rate of 30 a week. How can I get bored, we're only just getting warm. I've just popped over to see how your Propaganda machine is rolling.

Funny enough, this time no-one's even mentioned you.

That's the way forums go though, you need opposites to stimulate debate, now you have about 20 regular posters all agreeing with each other.

You're right, we do need opposites to stimulate debate, and the only problem we've ever had with you is your name games.

And I think you'll find there are well over 100 'regular' posters. Count them for yourself.

And as for pulling posts.... come on, you know me, I've never pulled or altered anything you've ever said, and you know acabbie and Admin wouldn't do that either. so you'd better ask Headlong!

PS. Did you leave the LTDA?[/quote]

Yes, I sure did.

I can see that this trade needs major changes, and staying as we are isn't going to get them. Change or Die?

So you're never coming back to us? Shame, was it something we said?

Anyway, you know the door is always open!

Dizzy.

That would only be effective if the user has a fixed IP address, if someone is using an AOL account then the IP is dynamically assigned everytime you sign in thus is that much harder to control; the only effective way is to put a stop on AOL accounts.

I'm sure i explained that to you once before

I won't take up any more space on this forum regards this thread as it's not fair to the other members to witness benign discussion.

You know where i am if you want to start up any topics, have your say or God forbid even commend taxi drivers for taking the initiative to try and safeguard their and your future.

Be lucky.

:D

AOL is an iffy one, and is very hard to stop, but in my experince the easiest way to out a multiply user is to read the words they type.

To me that a piece of pi**.

That said, I'm not sure I give a stuff, and personally I'm far from being whiter than white.

Let me know when it's all going to happen then Dizzy, that must be one busy board with a hundred daily posters, with one hell of an influence over the PCO and TFL, not to mention The Met Police . . .

Next thing you know 26'000 London Cabbies will be talking about it.

Be lucky, and say 'Hi' to Addis, Gander and Piddle.

I've been doing that since I first wore my Badge.

It's called working nights, and if more drivers had done what I've done, we would'nt see half the problems we see now in the shape of in-house or even 'on pavement' Minicab operations.

And you know what Mr acabbie? As soon as the economy picks up and day work becomes viable once more, we'll revert to exactly the same situation that I saw for the last few years when times were good . . . loads of punters, and no Taxis. and once more the Minicabs will flourish.

But I think you know that already.

It's happening now!

135 new members this month alone.

It must appeal to people that they now have a voice, their own voice, not someone else's who never ask for their views.

It's funny, I often agree with a lot of what you say, but our visions for the future are lightyears apart.

You complain that things will revert back to how they were when it picks up, but don't you think that's a good reason why this trade needs a revamp from the top to the bottom.

Whichever angle I look at this trade from, it always seems to be us that get the bum deal.

Would you not complain if we all just sat there like the rest of those fat f*ckers in the cafe.

At least we are trying to make a difference, not just for ourselves, but for every poor unfortunate b*st*rd who has to drive a cab, you included!

Here are a few questions I wouldn't mind an answer to, if you'd be so kind...

Have you supported any of the action yet?

Have we done anything yet that you agree with?

Where can I get a cheap holiday to Scotland?

Dizzy.

Bravo. But am I 132 of them?! :D

I agree, but it depends if anyone in authority is listening, despite the anti association theme over on the LTDF, all the associations, bar Mr Angrys new baby have regular meetings with interested parties.
I know that doesn't suit some peoples agenda's, but thats fact, and over the years it's served the trade well despite what some recent arrivals think.
Perhaps you're taking it the wrong way Dizzy (Oo'err missus) but I'm not nor have ever claimed the forum is a bad thing, I wish it the best of luck.

I agree, but it does'nt make either you or me correct. There's 25'000 differing views out there, and probably over 8000 differing views within the LTDA alone, but we still generally sing from the same song sheet.

I'm not complaining, I'm pointing out a fact. I'm not sure how anyone or any 're-vamp' will make drivers work nights when they can make money on days? :?

Are they all fat? I'm not. I'm an endomorph.

Poor? Unfortunate? Are we? :?
I work 4 nights a week for a very good return even in the current financial climate, I've never considered it too much of a hardship compared with previous jobs I've done.
Again, I guess it comes down to whether drivers enjoy driving a cab or not.
I've often asked drivers who moan for a living when they're going to hand their bills back and pursue a different career . . . but they never do . . . or will.
Me? I like it, you'll never have that freedon being PAYE.

Disgruntled wrote:

RMT action? No.

LTDA actions? Yes.

By working permanent nights when people need Taxis? Yes.

Yes.

You could Hitchike . . . or jog, that would be cheap.

Did you work today Dizzy?

What a blinder.

That's exactly what we're trying to make them do.

It's nothing personal, Unite aren't exactly getting glowing reports either.

Well thank you very much.

1 Badge 1 Vote. RMT policy.

Where does the HC stand on this?

Well, i'm not going through the bins yet either, but you know what I mean.

Having worked through the last downturn, and the mini recession post 9/11, I still smile when I hear drivers who take part in the Euston social club of an evening telling each other they've never seen it so bad, especially the Hyena who seems to delight in spreading his misery to anyone who will listen.

I always ask them where they'll be at 3am or 4am. I know where I'll be, I'll be taking money of folks who need taxis at that time.

Toilets. :?

It's a pound to park for an hour, in central London that's cheap. They would do better to campaign for the ranks to be free of shysters who treat them like personal shopping spaces.

The point is, why should you have to pay ? It's a basic human need to have to use the loo and WCC are using it as an excuse to raise revenue. Once the royal oak is gone there will be many more cabbies looking for somewhere to go to toilet and in Westminster that equates to a very tidy sum.

I'm not in the RMT but commend then on their intiative in taking WCC to task about this. You may be happy to spend £1 a time for a 5 minute loo break but over the week that will equate to between £20 and £40 of your hard earned cash going into WCC coffers so they can invest in yet more cameras and wardens to penalise you and me........money well spent ? I think not!

You mention ranks, well how many ranks are so well placed to be near toilet facilities ? You say that the shysters are off doing their shopping; i grant you that there are an element of drivers doing exactly that and it needs to be addressed but also i'm sure a great many drivers are off trying to find a toilet.

We used to be able to park up, use a loo; allow a customer to use an ATM; pop into a sandwich bar and buy a sarnie but now all of that is seen as a viable means of revenue collection! You seemingly seem happy with that ? You are quite happy to swell the coffers of WCC for answering the call of nature ? You make some valid points GBC but sometimes i really do wonder why you seem to want to be at odds with your own colleagues ? Tell me, if it had been the LTDA who had organised this demonstration would you have been so against the proposal?

Quote:
Well a whole 10 people turned out for London's 'fastest' growing socialist representative taxi group.

I went along, not as a member of the RMT (i'm in the LTDA) and not because i'm that affected by the constraints imposed on drivers by WCC as i'm a night worker and generally find it ok to park up and use the loo (when i can find one!), i went along because i'm sick to the back teeth of the local authorities seeing us as easy pickings! I'm sick of hearing of taxi drivers being penalised by WCC for stopping at an ATM for a customer! I'm fed up of them being pernicious and vindictive not to mention highly selective when it comes to enforcing their parking regulations; stop at an ATM, get fined! PH touting in the haymarket, turn a blind eye!

If the action can kick start negotiations with WCC and the relevent trade bodies (i include LTDA, LCDC, UNITE and the RMT) then surely it's a good thing. I was out there for myself, my colleagues and remarkably even for you GBC, if anything positive comes out of it then you will benefit as much as any of us or will you still be willing to give them your pound to take a leak ?

Perhaps it's time to stop being a troll, stop being anti-everything and stand up alongside your fellow cabbies. The issues affect you as much as anyone else in this job.

Be lucky.............

The offer still stands if you want to check out the cab. :)

its realey not on is it nihter is having a tolet in the cab, take bolton, there is not one outside loo open at night, they have all closed.

But to cost £3 realey not on.
