I thought that was isobars? Are they something to do with barometric pressure?

Yes.

Contour lines on a map follow heights, so, on a perfectly conical hill the contour lines would be perfectly round.

Isobars (and the "BAR" inside the word comes from BARometric) follow pressures, so a perfectly circular cyclone or anticyclone would have round isobars.

When contour lines are close together the "hill" is steep - if they join up the "Cliff" is vertical.

When isobars (or pressure lines if you prefer) are close together the wind is strong. The closer together the stronger the wind.

Do you know my brother? Do you know my other two brothers as well?

The info is a very shortened version of how I taught met to Matelots on the staff boatwork course.

None of my brothers is in the Taxi game.

How the hell do you know Michael?

 Just realised who you meant by "brother".

I have to tell you a secret - my Surname is not "Fish". My brother is not "Michael Fish".

If this is a shock CC, lie down in a quiet room.

I now have no doubt that you do not know any of my three brothers.

Is this a relative of yours? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esnDnIK2v1g

I thought you had french roots with being down there nearly in france.

Indeed, your french name would be 'Chris le Poisson'

I read somewhere or other that you have a claim to be part "Sweaty Sock", is that why you live way up in the frozen North?
