Its licensed for six passengers you could licence a metro for more, but the vast majority of them are 5,plenty of old taxis there aswell !

So you agree that your earlier statement that you can only license a hackney in London for 5 was incorrect.

I bow down to your superior knowledge grandad  But it was really the point about charging double fare for six which doesnt relate to hackneys ,is that ok with you ?

Why does charging extra for 5 or more passengers not relate to Hackneys?

Ok think were going off topic here,i was commenting on the london bit with someone saying its double for 6 passengers, which it isnt. Its extra 20 pence per person here but its not double fare is it .Personally i think it should be more for the more passengers you have.

Not in a hackney as there only licensed for five.

Mine is licensed for 8

we are allowed an extra 70 p per passenger over 4 BUT as the majority of bookings start or finish outside the district we tend to charge 1.5 times as they do elsewhere but not off the rank

No its £3 extra on top of the £5 which is £8 for a 1 mile journey thats more than a London cab !

£8 divided by 5 = £1.60 each, how much is the bus (after a wait in the rain)
