I still dont follow your logic;

Are you saying network rail want taxis out because Central Taxis wrote a letter of complaint about over ranking?

Or are you saying they increased the costs to £5 per day because of the letter mentioned above?

If the above is correct then Network Rail, if they are wanting more money, only needed to increase permit costs - not ban taxis completely?

No Thanks, Like most Scot's I'll go for the real Government with real politicians, lets forget The toothless mission impossible team at INDY-PLC. :roll:

Then you'd better go cap in hand to Westminster to get this Waverley mess sorted, won't you?

Mind you, blaming Scots for Westminster's failures is par for your unionist course.

Haven't a clue what you're on about either, but very clever play on words there Reggie =D> =D> =D>

(For the benefit of newbies, taxi ranks are sometimes called 'stands' or 'stances', particularly overseas)

But surely if only hacks at a stand can pick up at the station then that would be discriminatory towards PH and the Public in general to be able to do the same and also discriminates against out of town Hacks, PH or the public to drop off or pick up with the same level of safety.

Dougie, your party piece could do with a re-write. Why don't you try taking a deep breath, every now and then and maybe edit your musing down a little? :-|

Would it not be better to have a protest, refuse to enter the station and let NWR deal with the complaints, and let them see how daft there idea is :roll:

As there is no room for cabs in Princes ST they could set up a rank along the whole of Market St and East market st, just by doing away with the public parking, that would let around 40 cabs to rank up, then allow say 8 cabs into the station and have a signaling system in place, to let the point know there is a space available

CC there was a letter of complaint sent in by Central taxi's concerning over ranking in the Waverley, Network Rail Held a Meeting with Trade reps, Police etc and it was decided to increase the cost of the permit too the equivilent of £5 a day so as to pay for increased policng, thats their excuse anyway.

I feel its the excuse to ban/force out Taxis from the Waverley, what im saying is this tactic won't work as around half of excisting permit holders will pay for the increased permit, its not going to work with only half the current amount of permit holders, in busy times its going to be a nightmare around that area, the waverley area is a nightmare now, whats it going to be like at peak times.

All im saying is the trade should make a stand for common sense and safety, also not allow permit holders to be ripped off, we must lobby the council to work with Network to find a solution, if a solution cant be found then the council should look in to forcing a solution.
