Just like the last time our LA has once again said "NO" to an Increase in payment for LA contract runs, they review this twice yearly...they say that over all prices have not increased over the last year so no extra money would be paid!
I honestly wonder about such people, are they so well paid themselves that thy would not expect an annual council pay rise by applying the same rules to themselves as they do to us.......I fechin bet they don't..There must be a different rate of Inflation for working out our Increase in costs and another for working out their increase in wages..

Dear Mr Stephenson, the formula used by SBC if flawed, and does not take into consideration that taxi running costs have escalated.
Insurance up by 30%, fuel up 20%, and could increase by more, servicing costs and tyres, plus VAT by 2.5%
Could I suggest an alternative fare structure
tariff 1 starting at £2.50 and tariff 2 starting at £3.00, this would be for the first 500 yards (note taxi meters can only be calibrated in yards in the UK due to vehicles running in miles per hour),
instead of the initial 107.3 yards, then £1.50 a mile or £0.10p per 176 yards making the first mile £4.00 after the initial 500 yards
I take it you will be voicing your opinion at the consultation????
