Don't your read the threads of this forum? You are living in a dream world, if you think the taxi trade is held in high esteem. #-o

Bottom of the barrel springs to mind... #-o

Why would you want to think like that. its your job and puts money in your pocket and at the end of the day we are a essential transport link for thousand of people every day.
The taxi trade is let down by the drivers themselves who have the im alright jack attitude. until everyone pulls together in the same direction then we will never have any influence over our trade. If the trade stuck together as one body then we would have power over things that affect us

I take it. You've not been driving taxis long? You know. I used to think like you, once, twenty years ago. #-o I honestly feel sorry for you. Unfortunately, you have a lot to learn. #-o

Nearly 26 years now so i think Ive stood the test of time. Have seen many changes but there's always one constant in that the trade wont stick together

Reality is a funny thing. It might not make sense but then, who says reality has to make sense? I'm afraid, if things are ever destined to change, it's seriously unlikely to happen in our lifetimes.

You need to get out. :-|

Change is coming and it will be in both our lifetimes. Have you not been following what the law commission is currently doing. that is when reality will hit and it will hit hard, because at present most of the taxi trade are like modern day nero. And unless you have made some preparations then im afraid youl be left behind.

If you have such a low opinion and regret for your profession then maybe a change of career is needed. I hear McDonald's are recruiting at the moment

At least at McDonald's, you get paid for the hours you work. Oh and I'm already out, I merely frequent this forum for a bit of amusement. Truth be told, I feel nothing but utter contempt for your average cabby. I have never seen so many people, with such a talent for working against their own interests. As a taxi driver, you are the weakest link and when in comes to working status, you have none.

Oh and I don't think your taxi trade could be further left behind if it tried. #-o

Not really, I left all that [edited by admin] behind me, when I got out. I think I only frequent this forum for a bit of light amusement and to see if anything ever changes, but it never really does. :-|

I absolutely love this trade.

Not sure about many of the other folks in it though.
