Minimum fares £1.80??? My minimum fare is £5 or it's hot worth going out for. Do these people live on Planet Zog?
Anyway, how can a self-employed person go on strike?
my meter starts on £1.50 so yes we sometimes get fares around £1.80 to £2 it depends how much mileage you have to do for that we class fares above £5 as a "village" job and have a separate rota for those so as to ensure fairness and today we have managed just 1 fare per driver over £5 plus 4 over £10 it comes down to the council insisting on maintaining enough taxis licensed to ensure that on the BUSIEST saturday night of the year there are always taxis waiting at the rank so when it isn't THAT busy fares are kept low through competition the punter can always insist on paying what they are prepared to pay which is probably the same situation in Bolton,Accrington,Blackburn etc. etc. At the end of the day this is what joe public and the councils want taxi and PH drivers to be wage slaves so that their taxi home from the pub or wherever is only a bit more than the bus
