Its amazing what can be done with a little planning and for thought.

For anyone interested in the practical use of these vehicles please feel free to see examples of EV use and see more than 6 other taxi operators/drivers that are benefiting in there real world use. Many have been running over several winters.

There are probably others as well as I am finding more and more people switching and not publishing the fact. If you know anyone not on the above list please let me know so that we all have access to real world information rather than myths and misconceptions.

70 miles range is about right. However, there are an increasing number of rapid chargers that can charge it to 80% in 30 mins.

Only an Green Erse would run a vehicle that has a range of so few miles with hardly any charging points anywhere convenient whilst taking a customer to god knows where in a vehicle that may or may not get them there before it runs out of juice, all the afore mentioned issues being doubled and the mileage halved in the deep and dark mid winter with headlights burning, wipers thrashing, heating full on, aircon going full pelt to clear the windows and the wheels spinning on ice or snow.

Jeeze....the punters gonna just love em and the drivers going to end up with a mental breakdown trying to carry out a days work without getting stuck somewhere with an Irate punter on board and no where to plug it in and no fare being paid because the punter would'nt cough up for a botched bit of " look at me I'm a Greenie" trendyism.

If it does 70 Miles per charge then thats only a 35 mile radius at best and a 17.5 mile radius more likely.

Forget the gimmicks, people have to be able to earn a living before they play Happy Planets.

Just fit a wind generator in front of your steering wheel and have one of these photos next to it.

That should give you unlimited range :D
