The Trade has a duty of care to the trade ..................and should of course take steps to inform the Council of any knowledge they have of concern.

Of course were your manor properly organised ie with TU representation you would have a Cab Driving TU sponsored cllr on the licensing ctte and no there aint no conflict of interest

It aint rocket science ffs

there's part b of licensing hearings - sometimes these applications go into that catagory

So are you saying that If I ask the council to let me know about all applications before they are granted, they have to provide me with all the information, including the contents of their DBS?

nice to see the daily mail getting hold of this story.

heaven behold they actually tell us the driver wasn't on duty at the time and he was driving his own car and all the convictions were in the previous century.

I love that statement from the DfT though - the best practice guidance - is only guidance - now perhaps they should tell that to the councils that cherrypick bits of it?

I don't disagree with you and I wonder if it is truly in the public interest not to have all applications open to public scrutiny

What irritates me Capt is that the credibility of the industry is on occasions like this very unfortunate incident destroyed by the appalling lack of cohesive organisation within the industry, a cllr on that ctte would of course been able to prevent this disaster and would have many opportunity's to promote and enhance the credibility of the industry.

Of course there would be many knock on opportunities within that enviroment all beneficial to the Hack PH community's its amazing that this has not been done extensively ..............absolute common sense to me #-o
