DBS? Certificate of Good Conduct? - Its not as if licensed drivers have been implicated in Rotherham, Rochdale, Sheffield etc is it!

The simple solution, which will never happen, is for operators to ask for a DBS.

Can an operator actually do this. Don't you need to be an authorised body to request a DBS?

I could be wrong but I think anyone can ask to see this, though you'd be within your rights to refuse.
Equally, any operator would be within his rights to refuse you a radio/car etc.

Of course the Daily Express are shouting about this - but in Lincoln they've been issuing asylum seekers badges without any DBS or Certificate of good conduct for ages

Lincoln was the first parliamentary constituency in the country. We like to think we are leading lights you may laugh at lincoln for issuing drivers licences without proper checks and safeguarding, but give it some time, and nobody will be laughing.

Oh, and I've just opened an Uber account, so that they can help themselves to my money any time they feel like it.
