I don't particularly dislike Skull or anyone else on the forum. it is the vile, unacceptable in normal society, language used by him. There are many words that the forum censor will take out that are far less offensive such as [edited by admin], [edited by admin] and [edited by admin] but words that are really offensive are allowed.

I agree with you...But I have not given up on him yet....he used to be a lot worse..Ban the word.

I just stated new ideas or opinions would be good. If you enjoy someone making the same point over and over then fine!

I gave you a definition and made a clear case supported by number of relevant facts for the term Cab****er and why it was appropriate for this disparaging term to be applied to taxi drivers because of their low social, economic and politically deprived status. :-|

Dougie's argument was that this word could only be applied to brown people. #-o

While Cabby John, between "sorting out the chaff from the weed" thought the term to be Indian in origin and therefore could not be applied to taxi drivers in this country. #-o

And Les just made a number of stupid comments and off topic remarks. #-o

As for the rest of you, it would seem, you just don't like the term Cab****er, which is hardly a reason for banning anything and doesn't make the term any less valid. #-o

Maybe we should take being a Cab****er and treat it like they would in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)? "Hi I'm Cabby John and I am a Cab****er" and then once you have finally admitted it to yourself. You can start taking steps to do something about it because at the moment, you appear to be living in denial. #-o

My view is that Skull could be an interesting contributor to the forum with his previous experience in the trade but all his posts at some point slowly degenerate into personal and inappropriate comments and the use of language that is outdated and unnecessarily provocative.
I am a great believer in free speech and would fight for anyone (including Skull) to have the right to air their views on an open forum. The only caveat would be that posts made here should be informative and not personally abusive or inflammatory. I am on many other forums and have to say that Skull would not be permitted to create the issues he sometimes does on here. He would be moderated more firmly

The Scottish section has been an embarrassment for many months now and unless it is brought back to a level where we can actually chat about relevant topics without constant bickering then it may as well be closed down. Sad but as in life it only takes one or two people to spoil the enjoyment of many others.
