I am personally sick of the sight of the damn things. It instantly says "chav on board" to me. The World Cup hasn't even started yet, and it seems like for months they have been flying on, (and off!) cars. If they were only flown on match days, they would have been a terrific visual impact. And as for the St. George's crosses you see with "ENGLAND" printed on them, don't the wuckfits know which is their flag without this helpful hint printed on it?

So jimbo, given that that allowing flags on vehicle seemed to be considered as a victory for common sense, presumably you think the emphasis is on the 'common' rather than the 'sense'? :D

As I stated earlier, if flags were flown on matchdays only on any vehicle, it would be truly eyecatching. But with the flags having been around for ages now, and many now looking tatty, yes, the do look "common" I would like to see some pride in the national flag. But why is it neccessary to fly it weeks before the event? I bet the same "cannot wait" oiks who now have a threadbare flag on their car are the same people who whine about Christmas cards in the shops in august, but buy them anyway?

Daily Telegraph, Thursday 1st June.

Flag Warning.

Police are asking football supporting motorists to take care when flying england flags from their cars as they may frighten horses.

And the City of Lincoln transportation committee met this evening, on the agenda, flags! I won't be able to sleep tonight, it's just too exciting!!!
I'll tell you all the conclusion tommorow. If you can wait, with bated breath...

The bookies say, Flags 7/4, no flags, evens...

Well since last time round they initially said the drivers couldn't have flags, then said they could, I would be very surprised if they would risk looking inconsistent again by saying they can't.
