The voice of reason from the London cab trade has crawled out again.

Still if the LPH trade wasn't taking his work then he wouldn't give a stuff. So they are clearly doing very nicely. \:D/

And why did they have to remove the roundels which had the words 'taxi - private hire' within them?

Why were the words 'licensed vehicle' removed?

Hello GBC,
Unless this has subsequently been amended the actual design of the licence has to be prescribed by the Sec of State.
See PHV(london) Act 1998, Sec 10

1. Your encouraging a certain person.

2. I think some of the 'LPH' drivers that work for the companys / operators may disagree about 'doing nicely'

I don't know why the London minicab trade have have a problem with internal plates, could it be they want external ones so the public think they are the same as taxis ?

By the way internal plating exists up here too,

Argyll & Bute Council and East Dunbartonshire Council use this system with no problems

At the last count there were more saloon vehicles licensed as Taxis in England and Wales than LTI vehicles.

I stand corrected!.
I really can't see the problem with this, the touting issue applie's despite what we have on our car's.
What we need is enforcement on tout's, how about a life time ban?, harsh you may say, but it might act as a detterent.
As stated before, fine the customer's who use the tout's £1000, they may think twice about useing them.
