Bang on Sussex, and it's amazing this bit in particular was brushed over (or, at least, that's how the press report conveys it):
Quote:
The inquest heard that another KingKabs driver had collected Mr Howat from The Abode hotel in Chester after police officers had arranged the pick up, due to Mr Howat's level of intoxication.
I mean, what role did the hotel maybe have in getting him into this state, and what about police essentially foisting him onto the taxi driver (as, of course, the coroner is now doing in terms of apportioning blame)?
I mean (and not trying to be facetious), if the driver who took Axel Headbanger-rama to the dance class in Southport had only phoned police when he'd done a runner then the whole thing could have been prevented
Thing is, the driver probably wouldn't have bothered phoning about the runner, because he'd probably know nothing would be done.
And even if police had rolled up, they'd have been far too late to prevent the three murders and 10 attempted murders anyway
Likewise, I'd guess the outcome in the KingKabs case would have been the same whether or not police had been contacted.
