Too much.

I've booked a test drive next month at M&O, I'll find out the prices then.
I belive their about £1K up on the respective TX2 models.

Wonder how much discount would be negotiable off one of their 02 plated Taxi's now?

Depends if they find out none of these bolt on systems work.... and all fairways and early TX1's have to be scrapped or shipped to Belfast!

Would be worth a tidy sum then?

I don't like the rear facing seat head restraints being mounted on the bulkhead; they can only restict rear visibility even further and put dead spots on CCTV. Apart from that I can't see any difference in the interior from my current car.

I thought that the ramp might have been changed - especially the extention only fitting correctly if the ground is perfectly flat, and there is still no microphone for the intercom available for a rearward facing wheel chair passenger. Theres no mention of the swing out rear seat; so has this been scrapped? If so why? The "new" booster seat is indentical to the one in my car and is that carpet I see in the rear??? Like mine that'll get ripped out after a few wheel chairs have been caught up in it and a few ladies have hit the deck getting high heels caught up in it - and you can't clean a carpet and be back on the road within ten minutes on a Saturday night. The all new interior is again idential to my cars apart from those horrid head restrainsts! (yes including the yellow trim on the seats)

I'm not impressed. Then again that is my opinion based on an article that states that the FX4 was introduced in 1959

2K price hike on a Bronze. I wonder what they strip out of the Driver to save 2K. I saw a TX2 Driver and it had no rear wash-wipe. And probably no drivers seat.

The new TX4 is available with four levels of specification; Driver, Bronze, Silver and Gold with prices starting at £26,995 on the road. The £2,000 price increase over the outgoing models is due to the use of a Euro IV compliant engine, new transmissions, the adoption of ABS braking and the vastly enhanced equipment levels.

Basic retail VAT *Total On The Road Price

TX4 Driver Manual £22,308.08 £3,985.83 £26,995.00

TX4 Driver Auto £23,993.19 £4,280.72 £28,995.00

TX4 Bronze Manual £24,435.74 £4,358.17 £29,495.00

TX4 Bronze Auto £26,696.31 £4,578.60 £30,995.00

TX4 Silver Manual £26,563.40 £4,730.51 £31,995.00

TX4 Silver Auto £27,822.97 £4,950.94 £33,495.00

TX4 Gold Manual £28,180.42 £5,013.49 £33,895.00

TX4 Gold Auto £29,525.10 £5,248.81 £35,495.00

I feel for the Butter Boys.

"No deposit Sir ?"

"That'll be £31,000+ interest at say 5% over 4ys = £775 per month"

No wonder M+O's are moving. They need a massive lot for all the TX2 px's they won't be selling. :-({|=

Well I'm now driving a TX4 (Bronze) !

Admittedly its not owned by me, its a loaner from C & S Taxi's whilst my two N/S doors are replaced, courtesy of a stupid woman driver at tesco on saturday evening. (sexist, but true)

Its a lovely cab, mind you its only done 3000, the acceleration is fantastic, it sits at 80 ( ) quite happily going down the A1(M), no rattles or starting problems, nice smooth drive in town, and I beleive the fuel consumption is better than my TX1.
Theres now more leg room for the taller driver, and interior lighting which actualy lights up the cab.

Have they got a winner? I guess time will tell, until then, this one will be the closest I get to a '56'plate for a while yet. :D

Could this be the first report on an actual working TX4 to appear in print?

If so, congratulations. \:D/

I always seem to be driving a cab about 8-10 years out of date so I'll post a review in 2016.
