I can confirm this case was resolved before it got to court. The full details are not yet clear but this incident surely highlights the need for clearer guidlines on suspension as the ones we have at the moment are being totally ignored by councillors and LO's with delegated powers.

It should not be forgotten that these two gentlemen had all three of their licenses revoked on the whim of a licensing officer, not because they were a danger to the public but because she had the power to punish them. We have seen the same thing happen in Oldham where councillors have suspended licenses as a punishment and not as a means to protect the public. How much evidence do we need that licensing in the hands of councillors is sheer and utter folly.
